Initially known as the Sixth Form Centre and located at Paduka Seri Begawan Malay College, Jalan Muara, the institution moved to its current campus in 1979. On April 17, 1986, it was renamed by Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah to reflect its prestigious status. Today, the college stands as a premier public co-educational higher learning institution in Brunei Darussalam.
